What do you specialize in?
I specialize in weight-inclusive, non-diet nutrition counseling. I have experience working with individuals with diabetes, heart disease, elevated cholesterol or other blood levels, liver disease or anyone looking to improve their relationship with food.
What is weight-inclusive care?
Weight-inclusive care is a healthcare approach that does not use weight as the focus for medical treatment or intervention. Instead, well-being is prioritized and habits are adopted for the sake of health. People of all sizes who have the same symptoms or diagnoses are given the same interventions rather than prescribing weight loss to treat a condition.
What about non-diet, what's that?
A non-diet dietitian or nutrition professional does not prescribe diets, meal plans, calorie-counting or any other form of restriction as part of their care. Non-diet dietitians use practices like intuitive eating, eating competence, body trust and balanced eating as ways of caring for their clients.
What are the rates of your services?
I am in-network with many insurance companies (Aetna, Cigna, Golden Rule, Optum, Oxford, United Healthcare, United Medical Resources (UMR)) through the Fay Network of dietitians. If you are not using insurance, the rates are $150 for an initial consultation and $100 for 60-minute and $75 for 30-minute follow up sessions. Sliding scale and equity pricing for BIPOC clients available upon request. If using insurance, please use my booking link: https://faynutrition.com/dietitians/ashleigh-spitza?pcrit=5nzbcp6L
Are you licensed?
I am licensed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and the registered through the national Commission on Dietetic Registration.
